- Will teeth whitening damage my teeth?
No, teeth whitening does not damage your teeth
-I have existing fillings on my front teeth, will these whiten?
Whitening only brightens the colour of your natural teeth. Existing fillings and crowns would stay the same shade any may need replacing after treatment.
-How long does the procedure take?
For most patients, whitening overnight for 2-4 weeks is the ideal amount of time
-How many appointments do I need?
3 appointments: The first appointment is to take some moulds of your teeth in order to make your whitening trays. The second appointment is to fit your whitening trays and demonstrate how to use the whitening gels. You then whiten your teeth at home (usually overnight) for 2-3 weeks and then we review your new shade on the final appointment.
-Will my teeth become sensitive?
On a minority of patients, teeth whitening can make teeth temporarily sensitive to cold during the treatment phase. We advise using sensitive toothpaste throughout the duration of your treatment to prevent sensitivity. If your teeth do become sensitive we simply ask that you carry out the whitening less frequently or use the gels during the day for shorter periods of time. Please note that sensitivity is not permanent.

-How long do the results last?
This varies between patients and depends on oral hygiene, diet and if you smoke. On average, most of our patients tend to top up after 3-5 years. You can use your existing whitening trays and buy affordable top up syringes directly from our practice.
